italian restaurant hampstead

It’s been a long, long time - but we’re back, here on the blog! Well, where do we begin?  Like every other business in Hampstead, London, the UK and the rest of the world, La Gaffe went through something unimaginable with the pandemic...something that, if you’d told us would happen the year before, would have left us laughing and wondering if you hadn’t been reading too many sci-fi books.

Only it really came to pass and, for the first time in almost 60 years, we had to shut both the doors of our restaurant and our guest accommodation, whilst the world came to a standstill.

Looking at our empty kitchen (usually bustling with activity), not  our welcoming guests from across the globe, not being able to make a morning cappuccino for our regulars and serving our locals  evening bowls of pasta was something we didn’t like - and we’ve never been more grateful than now to be back in business.

Like every other restaurant in Hampstead, we’re serving customers again and we’ve even redesigned our website and revamped our menu (see, some good things do come out of pandemics!)

We’re also planning on serving the traditional La Gaffe Christmas lunch at our restaurant on Heath Street, for anyone that doesn’t feel like shopping, cooking and doing the washing up - we’re taking bookings now and we’d love to have you.  Just give us a call, on 020 7435 8965, or email us at info@lagaffe.co.uk for more information about menus and prices.

We also hope to start offering butchery evenings again, since the last few we put on, in collaboration with the Hampstead Butcher, were incredibly popular.

And, of course, we can’t help but be thinking ahead to next year - 2022 - the year that La Gaffe turns 60.  We very much hope we’ll be able to invite you all to Hampstead for a big party - when we turned 50, we celebrated in style and this bash should be no less grand.  In the meantime, our kitchen is open once more, whether you’re in the mood for a light bite in the wine bar or something a bit more substantial in our restaurant. From all of us here at La Gaffe, stay safe and we hope to see you very soon.
